Chief Executive, Major National Organisation
The client was the Chief Executive of a major national organisation. He came new to this role with energy and enthusiasm. The initial coaching discussed focused on his priorities and personal impact. What did his parent Department want him to deliver? What were their measures of success? What was he going to deliver in the first six months?
We talked about the personal impact he wanted to have. What was he going to say at the reception for senior staff? What adjectives did he want people to use to describe him after one month? How did he want the doorman to describe him?
The client wanted to work through his approach to changing the culture within the organisation. How could he make it more outward facing and enterprising? We worked through different strategies. The coach was a sounding board for his speech at his first leadership conference of senior staff. In what frame of mind did he want people to leave the conference: how did he achieve that outcome?
The client had difficult staffing issues to address which we worked through systematically and sensitively. The outcome was a clarification of what he thought were the right next steps based on dispassionate analysis of the facts.
