Robin Hindle Fisher
The space that coaching creates to explore one’s own motivation, objectives and potential is an enormous privilege in corporate life. Similarly, it is a privilege for a coach to work very closely with successful individuals and to support their agendas. The opportunity to create lasting value, for the individuals and their employers, from the results of the unique relationships between clients and coaches is enormous.
Experience
Robin has over 27 years’ experience in institutional investment management in the City and remains a part-time partner of a specialist fund management firm, Governance for Owners LLP.
Before joining Governance for Owners in 2006, Robin worked for a number of large fund management companies. He was at Phillips & Drew Fund Management for a decade, initially as an equity portfolio manager and ultimately as CEO with responsibility for the UK operations of UBS Asset Management, over 400 staff and relationships with key institutional clients. He was on the executive committee of UBS Asset Management and was closely involved in creating UBS’s retail investment business in the UK as well the merger of Phillips & Drew with its sister companies within UBS. In addition to Phillips & Drew, Robin has worked at Deutsche Asset Management, Henderson Administration (now Henderson Global Investors) where he was on the public company board, BZW, and Kleinwort Benson as a graduate trainee.
Robin has specialised in the management and leadership aspects of the financial services sector throughout his career, including leading teams of investment professionals, managing businesses and building client relationships. He has enjoyed the support of a coach at key moments of his career over the last 14 years and appreciates the additional clarity that coaching has brought to his thinking on key strategic decisions. He started business coaching formally in 2009 and is currently studying for the highly regarded Masters in Executive Coaching at Ashridge Business School.
Robin is married with two teenage daughters. He is a trustee of two national charities that specialise in supporting families with disabled children. When not watching his beloved Wales rugby team, he enjoys walking, memories of the 2009 London Marathon and the vague hope of another long run one day in the future.
